“Pressing Matters 2018,” Whiteaker Printmakers' second juried printmaking exhibition, opens November 6 at the Emerald Art Center in neighboring Springfield, Oregon. Thirty contemporary works selected by juror Margaret Prentice will showcase traditional printmaking techniques including etching, monotype, mezzotint, woodcut, linocut, screenprinting, and lithography. Prizes were awarded to Jennifer Clarke for "Desert Rose" (first prize), Linda Seckinger for "Searching for Truth in a Boatload of Bull" (second prize), Meredith Setser for "Tumbling" (third prize #1), and Melinda Plank for "Double Dippers, Smith River Canyon" (third prize #2).

The exhibition runs from November 6th to 30th. The Emerald Art Center gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 - 4, and on Friday, November 9, 5-8 pm, during the Downtown Springfield Second Friday Artwalk.
